Life Cycle Logic is proud to have produced the world’s first EPD of a complete hotel building for NXT TEC.

The Wyndham LUX Perth Hotel will showcase the versatility and capability of the NXT™ Building System. The eight storey, 10-level, luxury hotel will feature 120 rooms and contemporary hospitality facilities including a rooftop swimming pool, a restaurant and a rooftop bar with views of the iconic Swan River, underground car stacker parking, rooftop garden terrace, and a large rooftop photovoltaic solar system.

The NXT™ Building System was developed to significantly reduce the environmental impacts of building projects globally. The fully integrated prefabricated building components will be locally manufactured off-site which will enable rapid on-site construction and virtually eliminate the production of on-site waste.

The EPD includes the whole life cycle of the hotel building from cradle-to-grave and was produced to the strict requirements of the International EPD System.
In a recent interview with EPD Australasia, Natasha Di Ciano, Managing Director of NXT TEC, described the process of producing the EPD:

“The process of producing the EPD was thorough. The background LCA report, on which the EPD is based, is a very detailed study that documents each aspect of the life of the hotel building from cradle-to-grave.

Our LCA consultant, Andrew D. Moore from Life Cycle Logic, was extremely professional and worked diligently to ensure we could achieve this world first.

Overall, the scientific methods involved in collecting and analysing all relevant data made it evident the end result was going to be a true measure, which is exactly what we were seeking.”
